Q. My hair is short, can I get  sewn-in extensions?

A. Your hair needs to be at least 2 to 3 inches, long enough to braid/cornrow.

Q. What is meant by a full sewn-in?

A. All or most of your hair is braided/cornrowed and the wefts are sewn on, a small portion of the clients hair could be left out around the hair line and on top of the head to achieve a more natural look.

Q. What is a partial sewn-in?

A. A partial is where braids/cornrows are placed and hair wefts are sewn in between your natural hair. About 1-7 wefts are sewn onto the hair. This is perfect for clients who want to add lenght and fullness to the hair.

Q. My hair is thin and fine, can I get sewn-in extensions?

A. Yes after braiding/cornrowing the hair, a net is sewn onto the braids/cornrows and wefts are sewn onto the net. This method is ideal for those with thinning hair and bald spots. It's also great for those experiencing hair loss due to medicine and/ or medical conditions.

Q. How do I care for a sewn-in extensions?

A. Proper care will allow your extensions last longer and look great. By shampooing, conditioning, styling and gentle handling, your extensions.

  1. Shampoo your extensions every 7 to 14 days. Choose a shampoo that is high quality and gentle, such as a sulfite-free product. Condition your hair each time you shampoo your extensions.
  2. Pat your hair dry after shampooing and conditioning , because rubbing the hair dry with a towel will roughen the hair cuticle and cause messy, frizzy hair.
  3. Always allow your extensions to dry before going to bed. Sleep on a silk /satin pillow case, or with a silk /satin  bonnet to protect your hair from pillow friction.
  4. Style your hair carefully. When detangling your hair start at the bottom of the extensions and work your way up to reduce pulling on the hair. Never perm, relax or color hair extensions on your own. If you want a different style or color, make an appointment with your stylist for the change you want. Use hot tools sparingly to prevent extensions from becoming dry and brittle.
  5. Schedule an appointment with your stylist 6 to 8 weeks after the extensions are sewn in. Your stylist can remove them or place filler tracks in  to update your look. If your  hair shows signs of damage, such as broken hair at the roots, ask the stylist to remove the braids and allow your hair to rest for at least 6 months.
